The
Archdiocese and Father
McCotter of St. Mary's Grammar & Night School went about looking
for a site in China Town that could accommodate their 55,000 sq. ft.
program. They knew they needed to move as their current
un-reinforced masonry building was seismically unsound. |

Father
McCotter broached the idea of this
lot for their new school. They soon discovered the housing
restriction on the site and approached several housing development groups
to collaborate with.

CCHC
(Chinese Community Housing Corporation) pulled together with the
Archdiocese to form the client team for this project. |
|
|
The
property, school and parking portion of the project are
owned by the Archdiocese of San Francisco and funded
privately. An on-going fundraising effort has been organized
for St.Mary's Catholic Center. |

The
housing tower will exist within air rights above the
parking structure. This portion of the project is receiving
public funds from HUD and Mayor's Office of Housing. |
