ElevatorLobby
Elevator Lobbies had finishes that were less institutional and gave the perception of warmth and familiarity.

Avoiding the Institutional Feeling

The clients had clear objectives for the space they desired and stated that they wanted a nice, cozy place with special things and art. They were also clear about what they did not want:

  • The corridors should not be merely a white, stark traffic area, but extend the welcoming effect of the waiting areas to the exam room.
  • They did not wish to project a "corporate image"
  • They did not wish to intimidate the patients with high-end technology used in this facility.
  • They did not want to further aggravate patients that were facing the hard possibility of cancer, so the word "cancer" does not appear in the signage.
  • No hotel art. This center should be classy, and pertinent to the patients' needs.
