One likely reason Mt. Zion has survived so long is it’s proactive or progressive attitude, whether it’s with technology, patient services, or the people involved (both staff and patients).

They were one of the first to use X-rays (1904), electrocardiography (1924), implanted the first pace-maker (1958), and installed computers in 1964.

The services overtime have changed and expanded to meet the needs of the people. They are consistently in-tune with their users needs, whether it be building housing facilities for their nurses in 1954, or creating a comforting atmosphere in the cancer center (2000).
