New Courtyard

The new courtyard was designed by MIG, the landscape architect for the Berkeley Unified School District.  It was done through a separate contract.  Some compromises had to be made between ELS and MIG to create a smoother transition between the additions and the new courtyard.  Some of the compromises included the placement of trees, grade changes, and color of concrete.

This is an image of the area where Building B used to stand.  After the demolition, asphalt was laid out to temporarily use the space.  Compared to the courtyard now, this space took a dramatic transformation.
