City and Neighborhood Analysis
While site and environmental analysis was underway, the PRNS representative
(Dave Peyton) was getting input from the community, meeting with San Jose's
city council representative (Cindy Chavez) and end-user (Ben Menor). These
meetings are organized by the developer.
The city of San Jose's rules and regulations had a large influence on
the cost of this project. Even though this is an affordable housing project,
expensive equipement could still be required. For example, the city requires
that a high-end chiller be used for the cooling system.
A city architect from the Department of Public Works is the code enforcer
for this project. Ashwini Katwan was the city's representative architect
for the Department of Public Works.
