Phase I Construction
Phase I construction began on December 2000 and had to be finished on
December 2002 to keep the tax credit funds from expiring.
L&D Construction company put Charles Buxton as contractor in charge
for the Senior Housing construction PLUS the shell construction. "Buck"
had extra pressure on him to get the shell construction done in time because
every extra day past the deadline, L&D construction would be responsible
for payment.
The contract allowed Bridge 90-100 days of extention due to weather/etc.
hold-backs, otherwise, L&D was responsible to pay $2500 per day over
the deadline.
