L&D Construction: Community Center Contractor
Virgil Tarpley is the L&D Construction Contractor for the community
center construction phase (phase II). Virgil reports all progress, issues,
concerns, conflicts, scheduling, inspection results, ordering issues,
etc. to the project leaders at every draw meeting, held once a month.
Because the community center was not funded by the tax credits which drove
the fast pace of the senior housing construction, the construction was
held back and began almost a year after constuction was underway for the
housing. As a result, construction for the community center is still under
way (as of December 2002), while the housing is already occupied.
Virgil's main concern as lead contractor for the Community Center is to be sure all construction runs smoothly with quality results.
